The design concept draws inspiration from the underwater world and the lost city of Atlantis, responding to Dubai’s oceanfront setting and local context. References to the Temple of Poseidon, as described in Plato’s Critias, inform the conceptual narrative of the project, grounding the design in the mythology of Atlantis.

Elevated above the Palm Jumeirah, the restaurant is defined by floor-to-ceiling glazing that frames expansive views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai skyline. Internally, the space unfolds through a series of carefully curated dining environments, including a grand sushi counter, VIP dining rooms, bar and lounge areas, and an expansive outdoor terrace. Each zone is designed to offer a distinct atmosphere while maintaining visual and spatial continuity throughout the venue.

Guest arrival is orchestrated as a deliberate sequence. Diners access the restaurant via a private elevator from the Grand Lobby, arriving first into the central Nobu bar and lounge. This space sets the tone for the experience, allowing guests to transition from cocktail and casual dining into the main restaurant or more intimate VIP areas, depending on their preference for energy or privacy.

The project presented significant technical and logistical challenges. Delivered within one of the world’s busiest hotels, the works included extensive structural modifications, new infrastructure and MEP systems, a fully integrated commercial kitchen, and a complete interior fit-out all executed under a fixed opening deadline. The result is a highly detailed, vibrant, and iconic restaurant that occupies the sky bridge between the two Atlantis towers, seamlessly blending architectural ambition with operational precision.
